Iowa State Defeats Morgan State 99-72, Extending Winning Streak to Seven Games
AMES, Iowa (AP) — On Sunday, Tamin Lipsey led No. 3 Iowa State to a 99-72 victory over Morgan State, scoring a season-high 20 points. Lipsey, a native of Ames, contributed 12 points in the first half as the Cyclones raced to a 50-34 lead. Curtis Jones added 19 points off the bench in a standout performance.
Keshon Gilbert scored 18 points on an impressive 8-of-9 shooting, while Dishon Jackson recorded 12 points, five blocks, and two steals. Joshua Jefferson secured a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Iowa State ends non-conference play on a high note, heading into the holidays with a seven-game winning streak.
Morgan State struggled on the road, remaining winless away from home with their seventh consecutive loss. Iowa State shot 56.3% from the field in the first half, propelling them to victory. The Cyclones will open up Big 12 play against Colorado on December 30, while Morgan State takes on Minnesota on December 29.
