Tamin Lipsey led No. 3 Iowa State to a 99-72 victory over Morgan State with a season-high 20 points. The Cyclones extended their winning streak to seven games, with Lipsey scoring 12 points in the first half. Curtis Jones added 19 points off the bench, and Keshon Gilbert scored 18 points on nearly perfect shooting. Iowa State’s strong performance included five blocks and two steals from Dishon Jackson, and a double-double from Joshua Jefferson. The Bears were led by Kameron Hobbs with 23 points.
Morgan State continues to struggle on the road, losing their seventh consecutive game away from home. Iowa State ends their non-conference play with a seven-game winning streak and will begin Big 12 play after the holidays. An 11-0 run in the first half proved to be a key moment in the Cyclones’ victory, while shooting 56.3% from the field. Next, Iowa State will face Colorado on December 30, while Morgan State will travel to Minnesota on December 29.
