Iowa State running back Jaylon Jackson was arrested for operating while under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.102%, above the legal limit of 0.08%. The arrest occurred in the early morning hours following the Cyclones’ loss in the Big 12 Championship game in Texas. Jackson failed three field sobriety tests and was taken to the Story County Jail. He posted bail the same day. Jackson, a transfer student, had a successful season with Iowa State, earning spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and being named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week. He has played in all 13 games this season, ranking as the team’s third-leading rusher and leading kickoff returner. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 19. Jackson previously played for Lamar University and Eastern Michigan before transferring to Iowa State. The university has not released a statement regarding the incident.
