Es Tas Sports Bar and Grill, owned by Terry and Andy’s Tacos Inc., located in Ames, Iowa, was served an eviction notice on Dec. 2. The owners were ordered to leave on Nov. 26, with a writ of possession enabling the landlord to reclaim the establishment. Terry and Andy’s Tacos Inc. reportedly owe over $25,000 in penalties and rent. Es Tas was notified to pay rent in full by Nov. 8. Owner Terrance Cullen claimed he was never served and apologized for not being proactive. In 2023, the Ames City Council denied Es Tas’ liquor license renewal due to underage individuals being on the premises. Es Tas had been in the city without incident for 20 years prior. Despite the denial, they were encouraged to apply for a more restrictive 8-month license, which was approved in Aug. 2023. Cullen did not respond to the press for comment. Es Tas’ future remains uncertain as they face potential shutdown due to violations.
