Coralville, Iowa recently hosted the annual Dan Gable Donnybrook at the Xtream Arena, with over 400 high school wrestlers from multiple states participating in the event. Five talented wrestlers from Eastern Iowa emerged as champions in their respective weight classes.
The winners included Violet Diaz from Denver at 105 pounds, Lilli Cooper from Denver at 120 pounds, Mackenzie Childers from Prairie at 130 pounds, Anastasia Simon from Decorah at 145 pounds, and Libby Dix from Mount Vernon at 190 pounds. These athletes showcased their skills and determination to come out on top in a highly competitive field.
The event was a demonstration of the strength and talent of high school wrestlers in the region, with Eastern Iowa well represented among the top competitors. The annual tournament is a highlight for wrestling enthusiasts and showcases the next generation of talented athletes in the sport.
