Nine people were injured in central Israel after air raid sirens sounded, the first in the region in months. A ballistic missile from Yemen landed outside Tel Aviv, causing panic and people rushing to shelters, including at Ben Gurion international airport. The airport has since returned to normal operations. Video footage showed a fire in a rural area near Tel Aviv, with smoke rising from a crater as firefighters worked to put out the blaze. No deaths or serious damage were reported, with injured individuals in mild condition in nearby hospitals. The missile was initially said to be surface-to-surface but was later confirmed to be launched from Yemen, with Houthi rebels claiming responsibility. The missile covered a distance of 2040 kilometers in 11-and-a-half minutes, targeting a military site in Jaffa, South Tel Aviv. This attack was in retaliation for Israeli strikes in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, part of a ongoing conflict between the two parties. The Houthis see their actions as defending Palestinians in Gaza. This incident is part of a larger conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, with incident involving drones, airstrikes, and retaliatory strikes. Israel has not confirmed if they have retaliated following this latest missile strike.
