Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz has announced that redshirt junior quarterback Brendan Sullivan will start for the Hawkeyes in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl against the Missouri Tigers. Sullivan has played in nine games this season, completing 68.6% of his passes and throwing for 344 yards and two touchdowns. Despite missing some games due to injury, Sullivan is now fully healthy and ready to lead the team. In his absence, walk-on redshirt sophomore quarterback Jackson Stratton filled in admirably, completing 10-of-14 passes for 76 yards against Maryland and 8-of-15 passes for 115 yards against Nebraska. Having Sullivan back in the lineup is welcome news for the Hawkeyes as they prepare to face the Tigers in the bowl game. The team is confident in Sullivan’s abilities and looks forward to seeing him in action on the field.
