Iowa State Cyclones Dominate Morgan State in 99-72 Victory
AMES, Iowa – The No. 3 ranked Iowa State Cyclones improved to 10-1 on the season with a commanding 99-72 win over Morgan State on Sunday. The Cyclones set a new school record by scoring 80+ points in all 11 games this season. They also extended their homecourt winning streak to 25 games, the second-longest in school history.
Tamin Lipsey and Keshon Gilbert led the charge for Iowa State, combining for 38 points on an impressive 16-of-18 shooting. The team shot a season-high 61.0 percent from the field, marking the sixth time in their last seven games that they have shot over 50 percent.
Curtis Jones added 19 points, while Joshua Jefferson posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Morgan State’s Kameron Hobbs led all players with 23 points.
The Cyclones got off to a hot start, making their first eight shots and jumping out to a 17-3 lead. Although Morgan State fought back with a 13-3 run, Iowa State regained control with an 11-0 run to finish the first half with a 50-34 lead.
In the second half, both teams continued to score efficiently, but Iowa State maintained a double-digit lead throughout. Jefferson’s strong inside presence helped secure the win.
