Scottie Scheffler injured his right hand while preparing Christmas dinner due to a broken glass, resulting in a puncture wound that required surgery. As a result, he was forced to withdraw from The Sentry, the PGA Tour’s season-opening event in Hawaii. His manager, Blake Smith, stated that Scheffler should be back to 100% in three to four weeks. Scheffler’s next scheduled tournament is The American Express in mid-January in California. Last season, Scheffler had an impressive year, winning seven PGA Tour events, including his second Masters title and becoming the first repeat winner of The Players Championship. He also won an Olympic gold medal and the Tour Championship to secure the FedEx Cup. Despite this setback, Scheffler remains a top-ranked player and is expected to return to form once he has fully recovered from his hand injury.
