Pat Angerer Joins Hawkeye Radio Network as Color Analyst

Iowa City, IA – The Hawkeye Radio Network has announced the addition of former Iowa linebacker Pat Angerer as its new color analyst. This move comes as part of the network’s efforts to enhance its coverage of Hawkeye football. Angerer, a standout player at the University of Iowa, earned first-team All-America honors in 2009 from multiple organizations, including the Football Writers Association of America. He was also a finalist for the prestigious Bronko Nagurski Award.

In his senior year, Angerer led the Big Ten with an impressive average of 12.8 tackles per game during league play and helped guide the Hawkeyes to an 11-2 record and an Orange Bowl victory. His exceptional performance resulted in a first-team All-Big Ten selection and a national ranking of seventh in the final polls. Angerer’s journey to professional football began when he was drafted 63rd overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 2010, where he played four seasons, recording 328 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and multiple forced fumbles.

Gabe Aguirre, Vice President & General Manager of Hawkeye Sports Properties, expressed enthusiasm about Angerer’s appointment, stating, “We are excited to welcome Pat to the Hawkeye Radio Network. His experience and passion for the game make him the perfect fit to join Gary in the booth.”

Angerer and his wife Mary Beth reside in Bettendorf with their three children. Their love story began after the Hawkeyes’ Orange Bowl victory in 2009.

With Learfield’s support, the Hawkeye Radio Network is committed to delivering engaging content and enhancing fan experiences for the next generation of Hawkeye supporters.
