The latest regional college sports news updates have been released, covering schools from Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and more.
In Iowa, Iowa State announced a 2:30 PM kickoff for their game against Texas Tech, as well as the return of the “Beauty & the Beast” event. Rachel Van Gorp was named Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week, while the women’s golf team finished 7th at the Stanford Intercollegiate. The team also received a commitment from Mason Bandhauer, an offensive tackle from Fort Collins, CO. Over at the University of Iowa, the indoor track & field team announced their schedule, and the rowing team finished the Iowa Chase.
Drake University saw Tyler Radocha named Co-Special Teams Player of the Week by PFL and Jada Wills earning MVC Defensive Player of the Week. In Nebraska, the women’s volleyball team maintained its No. 2 ranking in the AVCA poll, and the women’s XC team was ranked sixth in the Midwest Region. The football team received a commitment from JuJu Marks, a defensive lineman from Olathe, KS.
Creighton’s volleyball team stayed at No. 6 in the AVCA poll, while the rowing team competed at the Head of the Charles. The University of Missouri’s golf team finished 9th at the White Sands Invitational, and the men’s golf team placed 10th at the Williams Cup. In Kansas, the volleyball team dropped to 9th in the AVCA poll, but the women’s golf team made school history with a win at the White Sands Bahamas Fall Invitational. Cobee Bryant was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in football.
At Kansas State, the football game against Houston is set for an afternoon kickoff, and the women’s golf team is tied for sixth after the first day in Hawaii.
