Iowa football stars Jay Higgins, Kaleb Johnson, and Kaden Wetjen were recognized on Sporting News’ end-of-season All-American teams. Higgins and Johnson were named first-team All-Americans, with Higgins becoming a unanimous consensus All-American and Johnson a consensus pick. Higgins also received the Butkus-Fitzgerald Big Ten Linebacker of the Year award. Johnson, named to various All-America teams, set school records in points, total touchdowns, and rushing scores. Wetjen was a second-team All-American and excelled in punt and kickoff returns. Iowa has now had a consensus All-American player for six consecutive seasons, with 33 in program history.
