Riverdale Girls Basketball Dominates Iowa Grant 63-30
The Riverdale girls basketball team secured a resounding victory against Iowa Grant on Friday night with a final score of 63-30. The Chieftains improved their overall record to 6-3 and their league record to 2-3 in the SWAL, while Iowa Grant fell to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the league.
Riverdale took an early lead and maintained their momentum throughout the game, leading 32-9 at halftime. Macy McCay and Zuri Dennis led the scoring for the Chieftains with 11 and 13 points respectively. Kennedy Couey shined with 15 points, including five three-pointers, while Lily Barr and Bailey Harris also contributed to the team’s success.
Iowa Grant’s Adrienne Biddick and Brynn Pettit led the scoring for their team with 12 and 7 points respectively. The Panthers struggled at the free-throw line, converting only 2 of 10 attempts.
Riverdale also claimed victory in the JV game with a score of 47-29. The Chieftains will face La Farge/Youth Initiative on January 2nd, while Iowa Grant will take on Benton on January 6th.
