First human case of bird flu reported in Iowa


Iowa has reported its first human case of bird flu in the state, with the individual being exposed to the virus while working with a commercial flock in northwest Iowa. The person experienced mild symptoms and is currently recovering after receiving appropriate treatment. The case was confirmed through testing at the State Hygienic Laboratory and the CDC. As of Friday, there have been 64 confirmed human cases of bird flu in nine states, all linked to exposure to infected poultry or dairy cows.
