The Francis Vigo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR, recently enjoyed a special program at their club house on the Vincennes University Campus. The program featured a presentation by Joy Biggs on how Christmas was celebrated in Vincennes during the French colonial period, along with a performance by the Lincoln High School French Class singing traditional Christmas carols in French. A highlight of the evening was a solo performance by music student Darian Oakman, who impressed the audience with his vocal talent. The club house was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees in red, white, and blue, and members and guests enjoyed a potluck dinner. Chapter Regent Kathy Todd conducted a brief meeting, where she announced child care assistance and Zoom meeting information for members. The next DAR meeting will be held on Jan. 28, with a focus on the Good Citizens Scholarship Award. The event was a festive and educational evening celebrating both the holiday season and American history.
