Former Auburn quarterback Hank Brown has joined the Iowa Hawkeyes’ roster after transferring from the portal, and the team is looking to add more weapons for him to work with. One potential addition is former Chattanooga wide receiver Sam Phillips, who entered the transfer portal in December and has received offers from multiple schools, including Iowa. Phillips is also drawing interest from schools like Michigan State, Florida State, and South Carolina. The 5-foot-9 receiver is set to visit Iowa this Saturday after visiting East Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Phillips had an impressive record at Chattanooga, with 154 receptions for 2,108 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He was honored as a first-team All-Southern Conference offensive member and was recognized as a freshman All-American. Before college, Phillips had a successful career at Cartersville High School. With one season of collegiate eligibility remaining, Phillips has the potential to make a significant impact on the Hawkeyes’ offense.
