Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz has announced that Brendan Sullivan will be the starting quarterback for the Hawkeyes in the upcoming Music City Bowl against Missouri on December 30th. Sullivan, who has appeared in nine games this season and earned a pair of starts, will be replacing Cade McNamara who had been sidelined with an ankle injury. Despite the injury, Sullivan has put up impressive numbers, completing 68.6% of his passes for 344 yards, two touchdowns, and four rushing touchdowns.
Ferentz also revealed that Jackson Stratton will serve as the backup to Sullivan in the bowl game. Sullivan had previously played for Northwestern before transferring to Iowa, where he has completed 68.7% of his throws for 1,647 yards, a dozen touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
