A 20-year-old man in California was detained by the FBI and ordered to have his guns temporarily seized after allegedly communicating with the 15-year-old shooter at a Wisconsin school who killed two people before killing herself. The man admitted to FBI agents that he planned to arm himself with explosives and a gun to target a government building in communication with the shooter. The gun violence protective order was approved by a San Diego County judge and requires the man to surrender his firearms. The FBI declined to comment on the case, and the investigation is led by Madison police. The shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison resulted in the deaths of a staff member and a student, with two other students sustaining life-threatening injuries. The shooter was a freshman at the school who opened fire during a study hall. Police found two guns at the scene, but only one was used in the shooting. Information about the weapons has not been released. Investigators are looking into the shooter’s social media accounts to determine a motive. A vigil was held in Wisconsin to mourn the victims, and a court hearing about the weapon seizure order is set for January 3. Criminal charges have not been mentioned in the case.
