Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Osceola County’s New Technology Park

Osceola County in Florida celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Westside Technology Park, a 40-acre development located at the intersection of Westside Boulevard and Funie Steed Road in the Four Corners area. The park, with a nearly $2 million investment, aims to provide a recreational and educational space for the community. Children are encouraged to bring their devices to learn about the natural world through QR codes placed on trail markers and educational signs around the park.

The park will feature nature walking trails, observation areas for the wetlands and sinkhole, and amenities such as solar-powered benches with charging ports. Future plans include a playground and dog park. The site will use Low Impact Design practices to minimize its environmental footprint and preserve the land, creating a unique ecosystem for plants and animals to adapt to the dry, sandy environment.

District 1 Commissioner Peggy Choudhry expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the importance of utilizing technology to learn about the natural world in a physical location. The Westside Technology Park will be the first of its kind in Osceola County and will offer local residents a serene natural space in a growing suburban area.

The park’s development reflects the county’s commitment to sustainability and providing resources for families, pet owners, and the community at large. With a focus on education, recreation, and preserving the environment, the Westside Technology Park is set to become a significant asset for Osceola County.
