Triton Acquires Bosch Building Technologies Product Business
Bosch announced in October 2023 that it would be selling most of its building technologies division’s product business as part of a realignment. Triton, an investor in European companies, has been chosen as the buyer for the security and communications technology product business.
Claus von Hermann from Triton’s industrial tech team expressed excitement about the agreement and stated their intention to support the management and employees to continue the strong growth trajectory of the business. Peter Loeffler, CEO of Bosch Building Technologies’ product business, also emphasized the potential for further profitable growth with Triton’s expertise and support.
Following the transaction, Bosch Building Technologies will focus on its regional integrator business, while the product business with fire alarm systems will be merged with the integrator business. The division will have about 8,000 employees in eight countries.
A spokesperson from Acre Security, another Triton-held company, praised Triton’s commitment to the physical security space and expressed confidence in Bosch’s ability to thrive under Triton’s ownership. Acre Security will remain independent but looks forward to potential collaboration and sharing best practices with Bosch.
Overall, the acquisition by Triton is seen as a positive development for both Bosch Building Technologies and the broader physical security industry. The move is expected to strengthen the ecosystem of expertise and innovation within the sector.
