The NYPD is offering a $60,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Thompson was shot outside a hotel and appeared to be targeted, but the motive is still unknown. Evidence includes shell casings with threatening words and a gray backpack left by the suspect. Authorities believe the man may have left the state and are investigating his movements, including a possible Greyhound bus trip from Atlanta to New York. Roommates at a hostel where the suspect stayed said he always wore a mask. Thompson’s wife mentioned he had received threats prior to his death. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple agencies assisting in the case.
