Michigan’s thrilling 85-83 victory over Iowa on Saturday secured their seventh consecutive win, thanks to Roddy Gayle Jr.’s game-winning basket with just 4.6 seconds left on the clock. Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf recorded impressive double-doubles for Michigan, with Goldin scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while Wolf contributed 13 points and 14 rebounds. Tre Donaldson added 18 points and Gayle finished with 17 points for the Wolverines, who shot 55% from the field. Despite struggling from beyond the arc and committing 17 turnovers, Michigan managed to secure the win by dominating the boards.

On the other side, Payton Sandfort led Iowa with 19 points, while Pryce Sandfort and Josh Dix added 16 points each. Iowa, now 7-2 overall, could not capitalize on their 3-point shooting, making only 9 of 27 attempts. Michigan, now 8-1, will face Arkansas at Madison Square Garden in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday, while Iowa will host Iowa State on Thursday. The Wolverines led for most of the game, building a double-digit lead in the second half and ultimately securing the victory in the final seconds.
