Singer Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour Book” had the biggest book launch of the year, selling 814,000 copies over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The book, containing over 500 photos from her worldwide tour, was exclusively sold through Target. The retailer reported nearly 1 million copies sold in the first week. Some local bookstore owners criticized the exclusive release, while fans noticed errors in the book such as grammar mistakes and low-quality photos. Despite this, sales were high, making it the highest-selling book in the Music category ever tracked by Circana. The release also included a concert film in theaters and on Disney+. Target’s executive vice president expressed excitement over the response to the release. Swift announced the book on Instagram, promising personal reflections and unseen photos from the tour. The book retails for $39.99 and was accompanied by CD and vinyl versions of her deluxe album. Neither Target nor Swift’s team commented on the errors in the book. Despite these criticisms, the book’s success on Black Friday marked a significant achievement for both Swift and Target, breaking records in the music category.
