The Student Union Board (SUB) recently hosted a Mental Health Kit event at the M-Shop in the Memorial Union to help students destress before finals. With the end of the semester looming, students are feeling the pressure of exams and the SUB wanted to provide a space for self-care and relaxation.
The event featured DIY kits with fidget toys, snacks, and mental health resources for students to customize. Participants were able to decorate their boxes, enjoy hot cocoa, and even enter a raffle for prizes. The goal was to give students a break from studying and focus on their mental well-being during a stressful time.
According to SUB Multicultural and Awareness Co-Directors Olivia Thompson and Tamia Brown, the event aimed to help students succeed during the final push of the semester and provide a space for relaxation and self-care. Students appreciated the opportunity to take a break from studying and focus on their mental health.
The event was a success in providing students with tools to decompress and prioritize self-care during a hectic time. For more information on SUB, visit their website.
