Blair, who was instrumental in Trump’s economic messaging during his successful 2024 campaign, will be focusing on legislative, political, and public affairs. Budowich, who spearheaded a super PAC in support of Trump’s recent campaign, will handle communications and personnel.
In the healthcare sector, Trump has nominated Dr. Jay Bhattacharya to lead the National Institutes of Health, a vocal critic of pandemic lockdowns and vaccine mandates who advocates for herd immunity. Dr. Marty Makary, appointed to the Food and Drug Administration, has opposed lockdowns and vaccine mandates, while raising questions about the effectiveness of booster shots. Dr. Janette Nesheiwat has been chosen as Surgeon General, and Dr. Dave Weldon will be working at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Furthermore, Trump has selected Jamieson Greer as U.S. trade representative and Kevin Hassett as director of the White House National Economic Council. Greer played a key role in negotiating trade deals and tariffs during Trump’s first term, while Hassett served as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
