Rodney Stahl, the owner of a former petting zoo in Grundy County, has tragically passed away after being found in an animal pen on his farm near Wellsburg. The Barn Stahl Farm, which closed about a year ago, was a beloved and popular attraction in the community. Stahl was discovered surrounded by several animals, and authorities suspect that his death was likely caused by a buffalo attack. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident, and an autopsy will determine the official cause of death. Sheriff Kirk Dolleslager described Stahl as an important figure in the community who provided services through the zoo for children. Unfortunately, law enforcement had to euthanize one of the buffalo on the property after it acted aggressively during the rescue attempt. The loss of Rodney Stahl has deeply impacted the Grundy County community, and details of the investigation will be released once it is completed.
