The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders suffered a 75-59 loss to the No. 15 Iowa State Cyclones in the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off. Despite a strong start in the first quarter, shooting just 24% from the floor, the Blue Raiders led the Cyclones briefly. However, Iowa State pulled ahead in the second quarter and maintained their lead throughout the game. Ta’Mia Scott led the Blue Raiders with 24 points, while Anastasiia Boldyreva and Jalynn Gregory also contributed with 14 points each. The Blue Raiders struggled with shooting but capitalized on free throw opportunities and defensive plays, coming up with 10 steals. Head Coach Rick Insell acknowledged the need for improvement and learning experiences from playing tough opponents like Iowa State.
