Upper Iowa University Joins Global GivingTuesday Initiative
FAYETTE — Upper Iowa University (UIU) is set to participate in the worldwide GivingTuesday event on December 3, a day dedicated to charitable giving held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This initiative marks the beginning of the holiday season, encouraging individuals, communities, and organizations around the globe to unite for a common purpose: to support nonprofit organizations through donations.
The funds raised during this meaningful day will support the UIU Fund, which plays a crucial role in sustaining day-to-day university operations. Contributions are allocated towards various essential areas including scholarships, technological advancements, and campus maintenance and repairs. These investments directly enhance the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff at the university.
Ashley Gredys, vice president for Advancement & Alumni Engagement, emphasizes the significance of every donation, regardless of its size. “Every gift, whether $25 or $50, makes a meaningful difference,” she stated. Gredys urges supporters to contribute at a level that feels personally impactful, reassuring them that their generosity will directly benefit students and bolster the UIU community.
To participate in GivingTuesday and make a positive impact on the university, individuals can donate online at uiu.edu/givingtuesday. Alternatively, contributions can be sent by mail to the Office of Advancement & Alumni Engagement at P.O. Box 1857, Fayette, IA 52142. Questions regarding the event can be directed to alumni@uiu.edu.
Join UIU on December 3 to celebrate the spirit of giving and support the university’s commitment to excellence in education and community development.
