Former Coach Miller from CCHS Joins Iowa PBS College Wrestling Coverage on KCHA NEWS, Your Source for Charles City’s News, Weather & Sports


Former Charles City High School wrestling coach Jim Miller is set to join the broadcast team for the return of College Wrestling to Iowa PBS in 2025. Miller, who coached Wartburg College to 10 NCAA Division III national titles, will be part of a team led by Tim “The Voice of College Wrestling” Johnson, who has covered over 300 wrestling matches for various networks.

The coverage will include four men’s dual meets and one women’s dual meet from NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA schools. Highlight matches include Wartburg College against Augsburg University and Luther College against Central College. The broadcasts will begin on January 16 and conclude on February 11, streaming live on Iowa PBS, Facebook, YouTube, and iowapbs.org.

Iowa PBS General Manager Andrew Batt expressed excitement for the return of College Wrestling to the network, describing it as a homecoming for both the sport and the network. Miller, who is also a five-time National Coach of the Year, shared his enthusiasm to showcase some of the best small college wrestling programs to a new generation of viewers.

The coverage will not only showcase exciting wrestling matches but will also feature commentary from legendary announcers Johnson and Miller. Johnson, a renowned wrestling broadcaster, has been recognized for his work in the industry, while Miller brings a wealth of coaching experience and expertise to the broadcast team.

In addition to live coverage, Iowa PBS programs can be streamed on various platforms, allowing viewers to enjoy their favorite shows on demand. The network encourages wrestling fans and sports enthusiasts to tune in to witness the best small college wrestling in the nation.
