Paul Park, 29, of Brentwood, Tennessee, has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Alyssa Lokits on a popular walking trail in Nashville. Lokits was found with a gunshot wound on the Mill Creek Greenway off Old Hickory Boulevard on Monday evening. Witnesses reported hearing Lokits yelling for help before shots were fired and seeing a man on top of her. The suspect fled in a dark colored sedan towards Old Hickory Boulevard. Lokits’ car was found at a trailhead entrance, and she later died at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Park’s relatives could not be reached for comment. It is unclear what charges Park will face, and it is unknown if he has an attorney. Police commended the investigative work that led to Park’s arrest.
