Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball players Monika Czinano, Caitlin Clark, and Kate Martin have been named to the preseason all-Big Ten team. The team was selected by a panel of conference media and released on Thursday.

Czinano, a senior center, was a unanimous selection after averaging 19.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season. Clark, a sophomore guard, was also a unanimous selection after leading the Big Ten in scoring with 26.6 points per game. Martin, a senior guard, averaged 14.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season.

In addition to the individual honors, Iowa was picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten preseason poll. Maryland was picked to win the conference, followed by Indiana and Michigan.

The Hawkeyes finished last season with a 20-10 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. They will be looking to build on that success this season with a talented roster led by Czinano, Clark, and Martin.

Iowa will open the season on November 9 against Illinois State at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The team will also face tough non-conference opponents including Baylor, Kentucky, and Iowa State.

Head coach Lisa Bluder is entering her 23rd season at the helm of the Hawkeyes and will be looking to guide her team to another successful season in the competitive Big Ten conference.

Fans can catch all the action this season by attending games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena or tuning in to broadcasts on the Big Ten Network. With a talented roster and high expectations, Iowa women’s basketball is poised for another exciting season.
