Comedian Brittany Furlan and her husband, Tommy Lee, narrowly saved their dog, Neena, from being carried off by a coyote that snatched her near the pool of their Los Angeles home. Furlan shared a Ring surveillance video on Instagram showing the terrifying moment, where she climbed the wall to save her pet. The incident took place around 1 p.m in Brentwood, an area known for coyote sightings in Los Angeles. Furlan highlighted the importance of pet safety in Southern California and reminded people not to leave small pets outside unsupervised. Coyotes are common in the region, and people are encouraged to bring pets inside at night and avoid leaving out trash or pet food to prevent attacks. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife estimates the coyote population in the state to be between 250,000 to 750,000 and emphasizes the need for coexisting safely with wildlife in urban areas. Furlan’s dog’s extra weight played a crucial role in preventing the coyote from carrying her away, highlighting the importance of vigilance and precautions when it comes to protecting pets from potential wildlife encounters.
