CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The weather in Cedar Rapids is expected to remain dry tonight and throughout the day on Saturday. Showers will taper off this evening, leaving mostly clear skies and dry conditions. Lows are forecasted to fall into the mid 50s to low 60s with northwest winds, making it a good night to sleep with the windows open. On Saturday, there may be some patchy fog early in the day, but it will burn off to reveal mostly sunny skies. Highs are expected to reach the low 80s, making it a great day for outdoor activities.
However, an active weather pattern is set to return Saturday night, with scattered showers and storms expected to impact eastern Iowa late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. These scattered shower and storm chances will continue through Sunday and Monday, with multiple rounds of storms possible. Despite the stormy weather, heavy rainfall is not anticipated.
Looking ahead, the weather is forecasted to remain consistent with off and on storm chances through mid-week. There are hints of a possible pattern change towards the end of the 9-day forecast, with temperatures climbing towards the upper 80s and a drying trend. Despite recent fluctuations, the temperature trend line is expected to remain steady for a while.
