Another Wonderful Day Coming Before Rain Comes Back

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The weather in Cedar Rapids is expected to remain pleasant for another day before a change in the forecast brings a more active weather pattern. Current temperatures in eastern Iowa remain comfortable, with lows dropping into the mid-50s overnight.

Monday will be another nice day with highs in the 70s and comfortable dew points. However, clouds will start to move in from the west as the next round of rain approaches, which is expected to arrive late Monday night and continue into Tuesday morning. Storms may become severe, with damaging wind, large hail, and tornadoes all possible.

Multiple rounds of rain are expected to bring significant rainfall totals to the area by Wednesday morning, with the possibility of flash flooding and increased river flooding risk in some areas. Heat and humidity will return on Tuesday, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and scattered shower and storm chances persisting through the end of the work week and into the Fourth of July.

As the holiday approaches, there will be more details on the timing and coverage of storms that may impact fireworks shows. Stay tuned for updates on the changing weather conditions. Copyright 2024 KCRG.
